Embedding
A vector of numbers that a model computes to represent the meaning of text, images or other data, so that similar items lie close together. RAG systems store embeddings in a vector database to find relevant chunks; embeddings can be inverted to recover much of the source text, so protect them like the data (OWASP LLM09:2026).
